Anna was imported in 2002 from Germany and has whelped three previous litters.  All three litters were sired by sons of Fritz with our 2005 "G" Litter earning a NA breeders award.  Anna has proven herself to be our best all around hunting dog.  She has been hunted extensively on pheasants, quail, doves, ducks, and geese in Iowa, South Dakota, and a little in Nebraska.  She hunts the field with enthusiasm, is very cooperative, and is also at home in the duck blind.  She has a very nice point and rarely loses a downed bird in the field.  She is a full time housedog and has lived both on a farm and in town.  She is excellent with children and other dogs and has a very calm temperament in the house.  Her combination of desire, temperament, and ability make her the best female that we have.  Her pups often show many of the same traits.

Jeiko vom Jakobsbrunnen (Fritz) was one of the foundation dogs for the Small Munsterlander in North America.  His name can be found in the three-generation pedigree of many of the dogs that have been sired in the United States.  He is a proven sire and his pups have an unrivaled testing record.  According to SMCNA testing database information Fritz has sired 79 puppies to date.  Of those, 30 have been run in the NAVHDA Natural Ability test. 9 pups received Prize I scores, 7 pups received Prize II scores, 3 pups received Prize III scores, 5 received No Prize and 6 were tested for evaluation only. At the Utility level Fritz pups were also very successful with 8 different Fritz pups having been UT tested 4 receiving a Prize I, one receiving a Prize II and Prize III, respectively, and two not passing.  His 1996 litter was also a UT Breeders Award litter, the first of only two ever earned by a Small Munsterlander litter.  Fritz sired 4 dogs that ran in the Invitational with one, VC Hans, passing.  He is also the grandsire of VC Bou.  Fritz has proven that he passes on his quality traits to his progeny and he and his offspring are one of the foundations of this breed in the United states.

Gosch Kennels is pleased to announce the breeding of our female Anna vom Haus Hessling to Jeiko vom Jakobsbrunnen.  This was a breeding done by surgical insemination with frozen semen at the Iowa State University Teaching Hospital.  The litter is due May 1, 2008. An ultrasound on April 8 has confirmed that the breeding was successful.  This will be the first Fritz sired litter available in a decade.  We will be keeping several of these pups and there should be a few pups available for sale if the ultrasound is accurate.  We are looking for loving homes where the new owners will be committed to hunting and NAVHDA testing their pups.  Price is to be determined.  Please contact us at smallmunster@hotmail.com for more information.
