A pup comes around once and then all too soon it is grown and considered a dog. Precious moments from whelp date to 7 weeks are my concern here, and I do the best and most that can be done to prepare your pup to be a versatile hunting dog worthy of your training efforts that lie ahead. After the pup is whelped : at 3 days old and onward to 14 days of age I apply to each pup the Early Neurological Stimulation developed by Carmen Battaglia (google that one up); upon weaning in the mush-bowl I at low volume start to introduce the pups to shotgun sounds increasing the volume on the cassette player in successive feedings; soon pups are feeding in a crate; the pups are run now at 6 weeks through medium to dense cover; then frollicking and in and out of water/streams, sometimes ponds, depending on the individual pup and its choices, as the case may be. By the time the pup is 7 weeks old all has been done to ready it for its new home. |

As a pup owner I require membership in NAVHDA because that is the first step to prepare you to train for the Natural Abillity Test. To that end I have in the offering to the applicants for Fall Brook Run pups a DVD I made called ' Our Pups & Training for the Natural Abillity Test' . This DVD shows all of the above described, and more about training and how you might want to train your pup for its first Natural Abillity Test. The breeding, Caja, VC Bou, dvd and more are presented at www.fallbrookrun.com I welcome you to come by to visit us at Fall Brook Run to see Caja and VC Bou work in the field and water. Beewau, a pup from the B-litter is with us too and his work could be a fine example to demonstrate what a pup can do after a year . |
