North East Uplands Training Weekend | at Wellsboro, PA

August 14- 12PM Lunch at Wellsboro Diner, all aspects of versatile hunting dog puppy training, dinner at Antler Inn. August 15- 9 AM breakfast at Wellsboro Diner, Professional Trainer,Joshua Burt ( George Hickox assistant for 5 years) will work individually with you and your dog. Fred Lanting

Fred Lanting was the featured speaker at the SMCNA 2004 Annual Meeting. Fred is recognized around the world has an authority on judging dogs, having been invited to judge dog shows in 30 countries. Fred is also considered one of the premiere German Shepherd breeders having produced over 50 litters and dozens of champions.

Dr. George Padgett

Dr. George Padgett

Dr. George Padgett was a veterinary pathologist at Michigan State University with special interest in canine genetics and what role breed clubs play in the control of the genetic diseases in their particular breed. He cites the need for open record keeping which will report all evaluations (abnormal as well as normal) as being essential to health improvement in a colony of dogs or a breed as a whole. Dr. Padgett was one of the founders of the GDC which is this kind of registry.

Randy Schawang DVM was the featured speaker at the SMCNA 2007 Annual Meeting. Dr. Schawang, resident veterinarian in David City, NE, presented a class on how to perform canine CPR and emergency first aide for our hunting dogs in the field. Randy also answered questions that the attendees had regarding their dog’s health.
